We first mentioned Y Explore last year when we got wind of their photography workshops at California’s Yosemite National Park, and now we’re excited to introduce you to them formally as a new sponsor here on the DP website. Y Explore presents a diverse schedule of inspiring photo workshops, led by renown professional photographers, that take place in the beautiful Yosemite Valley. Coming up in May 2010 are the Yosemite Twin Valleys Waterfall Workshops:
“Journey to a place where thundering waterfalls leap from granite cliffs into vernal pools, leaving a trail of mist that dances in and out of soft light. Join us for the unique opportunity to photograph the magnificence of two Yosemite Valleys including Hetch Hetchy, the hidden treasure of Yosemite National Park. Spectacular views unfold as we walk through wildflowers to dramatic waterfalls while exploring aspects of composition, perspective, depth of field, motion, color, lighting, and natural history of your subject.
Several options of morning and evening light photo field sessions will be available from a faculty of seasoned professional photographers. Central to all programs will be a focus on the spectacular Yosemite waterfalls during their peak season. Spring classes will include ‘Rainbows and Reflections’ with Walter Flint; ‘Hetch Hetchy Falls and Flowers’ with Robb Hirsch; ‘The Art of Digital Nature Photography’ with Joshua Cripps; and two masters programs from Phil Schermeister, author of National Geographic photography book “Range of Light”: ‘Yosemite Valley Waterfalls’ as well as ‘Abstracts and Colors in Nature’. Smaller sized groups ensure that maximum care is given to each member who wishes to achieve their photo objectives while capturing images of Yosemite’s iconic landscapes along with its diverse flora during periods of optimal light.”
