Adobe Announces Photoshop iPhone App

Photoshop Mobile iPhone App copy

On Friday, Adobe announced the Photoshop.com app for iPhone, joining the growing ranks of free photo-editing applications for the iPhone, and instantly trumping them all–at least with name recognition. We’ve been playing with the app here at DP and aren’t entirely impressed, if only because we are such Photoshop fans and know how much more could become of this app with just a few additional features. The good news is there is cropping (which a few competitors weirdly don’t offer) and adjustments to black-and-white, saturation, tint and exposure. There are also effects, such as Drawing, Soft Focus, Warm Vintage, Vignette and Pop. A simple feature lacking for me is brightness/contrast or levels, beyond the “Exposure” adjustment option, which would allow users to give more definition to their images. I suspect more features will come with time, and probably before not too much passes, but as this is a free app and incredibly quick and user-friendly, I’ll keep it.
