Canon has just announced three new PowerShot digital cameras: the PowerShot SX150 IS, the PowerShot ELPH 510 HS (which Canon says is “the world’s thinnest digital camera with 12x optical zoom and a 28mm wide-angle lens”) and the PowerShot ELPH 310 HS. With these petite digicams, Canon is boasting about the zoom, the low-light capabilities and the high speed burst shooting mode. The 510 HS and 310 HS also record full (1080p) High Definition video, and the SX150 IS features 720p HD video. To combat noise in low-light shots, Canon has introduced the “HS SYSTEM,” which “combines a 12.1-megapixel, high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor to enhance image quality in low-light settings. The HS SYSTEM also reduces noise at high ISO speeds and expands the camera’s dynamic range to allow for greater detail and color when shooting in darker settings” in the PowerShot ELPH 510 HS and ELPH 310 HS.
The PowerShot SX150 IS will be available at the beginning of September for an estimated $249.99. The PowerShot ELPH 510 HS will be available at the beginning of October for an estimated $349.99. The PowerShot ELPH 310 HS will be available at the beginning of October for an estimated $259.99. Read the full press release below.
