Hands-on with Casio TRYX
CES 2011, Las Vegas—Yesterday’s splashiest Casio announcement, the innovative, flexible new TRYX camera, had me excited to get my hands on a model on the CES show floor. The pre-production model—although slightly, expectantly, glitchy—was fun to play with and surprisingly lightweight. The twisty-turny possibilities are essentially endless, allowing you to hold it like a mini camcorder for shooting video or face it toward you for self-portraits, and the touch screen is quick and responsive. The HDR Art mode offers an extra boost to the ubiquitous new feature of built-in HDR capture. I could see the TRYX being a fun pocket cam for casual shooting at parties, and for capturing unique angles when traveling.
