I am using 2 film & 4 Point & shoots digital for the last seven years, one of them is a Canon Powershot SX20IS which I’ve added end of 2009; now planning to move to get a DSLR as I am feeling that I’ve out grown over the cameras that I have. After 6 months of study, online reviews, posts etc, I understood that DSLR does not mean a camera and a lens, rather the term indicates toward a system; also I came to an end that Pentax k-x is my ultimate choice, my plan is to start with a camera that is not very much expensive but can handle it’s job quite well and then to add more and more lenses to my DSLR system as Pentax offers a big lens line-up, also third party cheap lenses are available. Thumbs-up to the K-X…….

  2. Kitten With A Whiplash says:

I like the color to start with. Matches my watchband. Techwise my faovorite feature is the 4.7 Multi-Exposure Continuous FPS. My first SLR, a Pentax ME from about 1981, still sees lots of action. so I know you can’t beat the brand.

  3. Ethan Creasman says:

I love that Pentax made a entry-level camera with some professional features. I have been looking for a camera in the K-x price range and nothing compares

  4. One Sheep says:

This looks like an excellent camera. The number of capture modes is perfect for a “talented amateur” photgrapher like me. I’ll be able to take great pictures while learning the ins and outs of the camera.

  5. What a great photo tool. Would love to migrate from film-SLR and toss-out cameras to digital world.

  6. Tiffany says:

I love this camera! Great features, Great Price!!

  7. ABC says:

The K-x camera redefines “entry level”. This is not a camera you’ll quickly outgrow and regret buying. It’s got a full complement of Auto settings, but the freedom to bypass these and make your own mistakes, which often results in the best photos. Biginners will be able to grow with this system, instead of being bampered by it.

  8. MATT says:

the thing i like most about it is that i want one.

  9. Gina Rybolt says:

I like that the Pentax is so versatile, it seems like the perfect entry level camera. I also like that it’s brown :-)

  10. Karrmac says:

The K-x’s ability to take great pictures in low light is a definite benefit. And of course, the colors are totally cool.

What I love about Pentax K-x is the cross processing feature. It can add so much to your pictures and makes your outcome very unique. Also the video function is superb compared to any other digital camera and also video recorder. It is light, the shutter speed and response time is fast. It is awesome camera.

  17. Joe says:

I like the looks and features. This camera has a great classic style.
    Thanks!

  18. DoDo says:

I trust the Pentax brand, I’ve never known anyone who’s had a bad experience with Pentax. I could choose any of the features of the camera, but it comes down to this: With German as one of the options, I could have a German Chocolate Camera, to go with my favorite cake!

  19. jules p says:

I have read that this camera does not weigh a lot. That is good. I am not fond of heavy cameras!

I love the unique cross-processing feature of Pentax K-X. That’s what made me fall in love with Pentax K-x. It is lighter than the similar cameras and also has superb video quality. Also provides fast shooting of 4.7 frames per second. This is a great starter camera for DSLR beginners.

  30. Jason Vanhoy says:

    Ok, so I tweeted…http://twitter.com/#!/jpvanhoy

  31. Jason Vanhoy says:

…and now my comment entry. Truly, a brown camera is the coolest of all cameras. Brown in the new black. I can haz brown camera?

  32. Brenda Oninski says:

Because, a beginner like me needs the right camera to make me become a semi-pro at taking photos. And I need a camera that is as stylist as this hip Pentax. Need I say more!!!

  33. Brian says:

My wife loves chocolate, especially the silky smooth chocolate, ironically, the same color as the Pentax you are giving away. Think how happy she will be if I were to win this camera. I’ll say, “Look Hon, I won a chocolate Pentax.” She’ll say, “What type of chocolate, Godiva or Hershey?” I’ll say, “Better, the 12.4 megapixel kind that can earn money.” She’ll say, “Woohoo, I get to go to horse shows again.” I’ll say, “And, I get to earn my own way instead of relying on unemployment.” Please let me win.

  34. Bronson says:

I like Pentax because of it’s affordable entry level price for a quality DSLR camera. It is especially affordable if won on a photography blog site. I like that it can record HD videos a lot like a camcorder, but also have the qualities of a normal camera.

  35. Bronson says:

    I love twitter! http://twitter.com/kavoral <— I twitted?

  36. Hey! I still have my lenses from my K1000′s demise, replaced currently with a used P30t body, but wanting to do digital beyond the P&S boxes. Like my old (long replaced back in it’s box) Apple QuickTake 100.

I hate cars, because the savings in my hobby piggy-bank towards getting a red model K-x keeps getting robbed by car repairs. Now the K-r complicates things, but is even less likely for my poor piggy.

  37. Nice to see something different in camera design

  38. I like this:

    12.4 megapixel

    - 2.7 inch LCD

    - Widescreen HD 720p video at 24 FPS

  39. Terri Slizewski says:

I love chocolate. What better thing than to have a chocolate camera?? How cool would that be!
